Perfection is in the details
Dress for success
Your wardrobe is important when creating your portrait session. Whether you want a casual or more formal portrait, you'll want your photos to look like YOU! A couple of things to look for are;
Chose colours that will compliment you, neutral tones work best
Use patterns sparingly, and focus on adding interest with accessories and textures
If you are being photographed with others, make sure your colours work well together.
Professional salon services
Having your hair styled and make-up professionally applied can elevate your images to the next level.
If you plan to get your hair cut or coloured before your portrait session, please have it done 1–2 weeks before our session, as this gives your style time to settle in.
I encourage you to look after your nails and hands in the lead-up to your portrait session Make sure your nails are clean and manicured. If you are wearing nail polish, check it is not chipped and the colour works with your wardrobe and make-up.
Professional make-up is available on request.
I have a home based studio in Remuera which is perfect for portraits and small groups.
When it comes to family portraits, especially if your children are younger, parks and beaches offer a large variety of options and back-drops.
Although I love working on location with natural light, all my lighting and back-drop equipment is portable so I am able to work anywhere that suits you.
